United On Guns

UnitedOnGuns Offers Mass Shooting Resources for Mayors and other Civic Leaders

When a mass shooting takes place, it falls on our nation’s mayors and city managers to respond. UnitedOnGuns, the gun violence initiative of the Public Health Advocacy Institute,  helps local leaders and decision-makers to reduce the impact of gun violence in their communities.

UnitedOnGuns interviewed mayors and municipal leaders in eight communities that responded to a mass shooting. Using their harrowing experience, we developed the Mass Shooting Protocol & Playbook, which provides actionable strategies leaders can use to prepare for, respond to, and help their community recover from mass shootings and incidents of mass violence.
